Message From Our Principal

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Hicksville Middle School!

It is with great joy and enthusiasm that I welcome our students and families to a new year filled with opportunity and growth. Here at Hicksville Middle School, we live by the motto: “Heart + Motivation = Success.” We believe that when we bring passion, determination, and kindness to our work and to each other, success naturally follows.

As we begin the new school year on Tuesday, September 2nd, the entire middle school staff and I look forward to greeting your children and starting this exciting journey together.

This year, we continue to offer a comprehensive and inspiring curriculum designed to challenge and engage every student. Elective and non-core classes are thoughtfully assigned based on student preferences and available resources, and these courses rotate on Day A and Day B schedules to provide variety and balance.

Beyond academics, we are deeply committed to the social and emotional well-being of our students. Creating a welcoming and positive school community where every student feels connected and valued is a top priority for us.

I encourage you to stay involved in your child’s education by regularly checking their Google Classroom and PowerSchool accounts to keep track of progress and assignments. Joining our Hicksville Middle School PTSA is a wonderful way to connect with our school community and support our students. Be sure to follow us on Instagram @hicksvillemiddleschool4 and join us for concerts, sports, dances, and other exciting events throughout the year. Additionally, grade-level “Middle School Happenings” Google Classrooms will keep you updated on important announcements, activities, and club meetings.

As your principal, my door is always open to students, families, and staff. Together, we will create a rewarding and enriching school experience for every child. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at 516-733-2261 or via email at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Benjamin Tangney
