Welcome to Hicksville Middle School!
Hicksville Middle School is home to a diverse student population with a strong sense of community. Focus is placed on helping all students realize their special talents and interests with the goal of providing stimulating learning experiences within a secure and caring environment. We provide services in challenging honors programs, special services for students with disabilities, and English as a second language (ESL). Staff members participate in on-going professional development in order to employ the latest educational research and learning theories in the classroom.
Hicksville Middle School’s staff members and families are committed to developing the total child. We have high expectations for academic achievement and support a learning environment that meets the needs of each child with a strong emphasis on reading, writing, and mathematics programs. Emphasis is placed on maximizing and integrating technology with the instructional program. Smart boards and computer labs are used to enhance instruction and improve the academic performance of students in mathematics, science, social studies and English language arts. Our PowerSchool student management system allows parents to closely monitor student progress.
The middle school co-curricular program provides a variety of clubs, activities, and instructional support where students can fully experience our school community after school. In addition, we have a comprehensive athletics program for seventh and eighth graders.
As a diverse school community, Hicksville Middle School offers the opportunity for staff, parents, and students to expand their knowledge and appreciation of the characteristics and contributions that we each have to offer. Our parents are an important part of our school through the support of their children's efforts, their participation in our PTSA, and their attendance at our events. It is a partnership of school and family that ensures our students are excited about learning and are prepared not only for today but for the future.
